The culture of domination and patriarchy finds its way into relationships and folks will either ignore it or encourage it.
And it’s not that age gaps are inherently bad. It’s that these age gaps OP is talking about are dangerous for all the reasons listed above.
I just feel like age gaps aren’t acceptable unless the younger party is 25+ simply to avoid all of the issues listed above.
At 25, adulthood isn’t mastered, but it’s at least settled in.
18/19 have only been adults for barely a full year which means the guy was waiting like a predator.
My high school history teacher always told us that men in their twenties and up only want teenage girls because they can’t relate to adult women their age. They know that the teenager will be more likely to do whatever they want and they know that they’ll be the ones in charge of the relationship. It’s a disservice to date an 18-19 year old just because it’s legal.
